11/16(google day 4)
Sorry i was late....
things gets harder as you need to put pictures for explicit lecture(?)
I will update the picture.
you will have to practice how to grab your bow
And You MUST know all the parts of bow.
if its french,
1) Hold the bow in your left hand near the tip with the frog pointing to the right.
2) place the bow between your right thumb and index finger. tip of thumb contacts the stick next to the frog and your index extend to ferrule
3) shape the remaining finger on the bow stick as shown.
4) turn your right hand over, and be sure your thumb is covered.
5) Hold the bow repeat the exercises on page 8.
for german bow:
1) hold the bow in your left hand near the tip with the frog pointing to the right.
2) Place the frog in your right hand at the base joints of your fingers
3) put your thumb on top of the bow while the tips of the first and second fingers touch the side of the stick and frog.
4) Hook your fourth finger underneath the frog touching the ferrule. Allow the 3rd finger to curve and relax.
Before using your bow, make sure you must 'shadow'it. It removes the ash and residue on bow and helps sounds better
1) Using tension screw, tighten the bow hair.
2) Place the bow rosin in your left hand and hold bow in your right hand
3) Shadow bow by slowly moving BOW back and forth on the rosin.
-There you will see some white powder. Stop when it doesn't come out anymore.
The reason I talk about bow even though we dont use it right now is because you should know about how to handle bow and know all basic notes before using it!
Now,I will show you new notes with pictures!
Make sure you have a metronome tuner when you pluck for rhythm and pitch! If the pitch is high or low, then look at the tuning keys of string that is out of pitch, and fasten it if the pitch is low, or loosen it when too high.
* note: even though book says you should use 4 fingers, actually just use two fingers then use 4 fingers when you get used to it.
